At this quarter’s meeting, SCALA’s Grocery & FMCG and Home Appliance & Homeware Best Practice groups were invited to Linde Material Handling UK to experience their innovative Automation Demonstration Theatre. This purpose-built space provide a great opportunity to see the latest technology in action at really close quarters and brings to life the benefits that could be realised from investment in even low levels of automation.
The summer meeting also included a session looking at the differences between logistics operations in Europe and the UK with some case studies and examples from SCALA’s current European project work and an interesting discussion with guest speakers DHL around how to maintain harmony in a long-term client / supplier relationship.
