SCALA demonstrates commitment to greener future with Future-Fit accreditation

SCALA has increased its environmental credentials by qualifying as an accredited partner of Future-Fit.

Through the partnership, SCALA is now part of a global network of advisors, companies and solutions providers, all of whom share the aim of promoting greener business practices and improving businesses’ impact on the planet. From this, SCALA’s current and future client roster will have access to over 30 years of collective expertise from Future-Fit, through SCALA and Future-Fit’s international partner network.

As part of the partnership SCALA consultants, Muryel Boulay and John Callender, have become “Certified Professionals” under Future-Fit.

Muryel was appointed as Senior Environmental Sustainability Consultant in June 2021 to support the growth of SCALA’s Supply Chain Environmental Sustainability team, bringing years of valuable experience in business sustainability and CSR to SCALA. In her new role, Muryel will guide SCALA’s clients through accreditation processes from building business processes, defining KPIs and building decision dashboards.

John is a Senior Supply Chain Consultant at SCALA with a background in reverse logistics and circular economy and is a strong personal advocate of Environmental Sustainability.

The Future-Fit accreditation will place Muryel and John in an even stronger position to support SCALA’s clients on their sustainability journeys and lead the way to ‘green’ transformation programmes.

As part of its wider environmental ambitions, SCALA is also actively working to reduce its ecological footprint by reducing consumption, waste and emissions both within the business and also by raising awareness across its international client portfolio.

Specifically, the business has pledged to achieve carbon neutrality by the end of 2021, and has also put in place a commitment to ensure that every project undertaken by SCALA contains an environmental impact assessment. Among the main drivers behind this pledge is the need for businesses to better measure and account for Scope 3 emissions – referring to indirect emissions generated by the business through sources it does not own or control – which often account for a significant proportion of an organisation’s carbon footprint.

Commenting on the partnership John Perry, managing director of SCALA, said: “Environmental sustainability has been front of mind at SCALA since our inception, however we are now taking this one step further and ensuring that every action we take, and business decision we make, is geared towards making the planet a better place for all.

“Having Muryel and John join our every-expanding sustainability team is extremely exciting and will further support SCALA’s mission towards a greener future. Between them they bring a wealth of experience in helping businesses assess their environmental impact and improving their supply chain carbon footprint, and now being Certified Professionals with Future-Fit underlines their sustainability credentials.

“Future-Fit is a forward-thinking and respected leader in this area, and we are thrilled to be an accredited partner. This move is just one of the extremely exciting environmental initiatives we have been working towards this year – watch this space!”
