Global growth as SCALA expands into new territories

SCALA has recently expanded into new global territories including Australia, Turkey and France after undertaking a raft of new international projects in the last two years.

Global projects now account for 30% of our business activity, with a total of 21 new international projects having been secured during this period alone. This was largely driven by our existing clients seeking guidance on their overseas operations or planned routes to international markets, following successful projects that we have delivered for them in the UK

During this time SCALA has provided supply chain and logistics support across the US, Australia, Western and Eastern Europe, Turkey and China. Projects have been delivered in both the food and non-food sectors and have included supplier evaluations; route to market strategies; network optimisation; operational enhancement; and logistics service provider outsourcing.

Phil Reuben, executive director at SCALA and managing director of SCALA China, said:

“We’re extremely proud to work with a host of leading organisations here in the UK, so it’s great to see businesses coming back to us following successful projects to draw on our international capabilities.

“While global markets differ, the international value of our supply chain expertise is recognised – which is something that we’ve experienced first-hand through the success of SCALA China to date.

“In a fast-paced and increasingly globalised industry, supply chain synergy, flexibility and agility are more important than ever. We’re committed to providing the same quality service that our clients value with the right local knowledge, supporting clients with sound consultancy and solutions, while developing our partner base and breadth of local marketplace expertise.”

Our US office is headed up by Wolf Liebchen, while senior consultant, Chris Clowes, also joined the team in recent months to head up our European projects.
