The University of Huddersfield has long been an enthusiastic ambassador for SCALA’s The Fresh Connection, incorporating the dedicated competition in to the final year of their supply chain degree programme. Now, building on the NOVUS supply chain undergraduate scheme formed in partnership with the University, the NOVUS Trust are joining the CILT, FSDF and principle sponsor Toyota Material Handling Europe as an associate partner for the national 2014 The Fresh Connection competition.
‘The Fresh Connection, used by industry and our partner the University of Huddersfield, is an excellent supply chain learning tool’, commented Andy Kaye, Chair of the NOVUS Trust. ‘It helps both students and managers to understand the power of collaboration within the supply chain, and how joined up decision making is needed in every business. We are delighted to join the CILT in endorsing SCALA’s 2014 Fresh Connection competition.’
David Leach, Senior Lecturer at the University and Programme Manager for the NOVUS scheme added ‘Our students thoroughly enjoy participating in the Fresh Connection. They get so much out of it – you can almost see the learning taking place’.
The Fresh Connection 2014 competition is set to be the most competitive and exciting yet. The UK competition runs parallel to the student competition.
