Founder of SCALA, John has a background in logistics and commercial management, working with major companies including J Sainsbury, M&S, and Tate & Lyle.
He has vast consulting experience, initially with PE International then as Managing Director of Supply Chain Solutions. His expertise and experience range from the development of global strategies through to operational implementation.
Phil Coupland
Director - Major Projects
Phil has operated for many years at board level for UK drinks companies, overseeing both Commercial and Supply Chain functions. He joined us from Beam Global in early 2011 where he was International Supply Chain Director. Phil has worked previously for Whitbread, Marks and Spencer, Exel Logistics, and Allied Domecq.
John Potter
Supply Chain management Strategy and S&OP
John has extensive experience in managing strategic change and S&OP in the FMCG sector. He joined us from SC Johnson where he was European Logistics Director.
He has managed the global implementation of integrated sales and operations planning, and is currently managing a major supply chain strategy review for a major brand grocery company.
Bob Diplock
Logistics Strategy and Change Management
Bob has extensive experience in the alignment of business and logistics strategies. Originally he worked for the Mars Corporation with responsibility for UK and European Distribution. He has carried out many major consultancy and executive assignments to develop and implement improvements which provide real tangible benefits.
Rob Johnstone
Logistics Strategy and Outsourcing
Rob has extensive experience working at a senior level within major food and drink manufacturing companies. He has expertise in network infrastructures, logistics contract tendering and outsourcing and has also undertaken work with retailers on environmental issues.
Graham Stubbs
Benchmarking and Consulting Management
Graham heads up SCALA's Operations and Benchmarking projects. He has a logistics management background and many years consulting managing assignments in the UK, Europe and beyond. His benchmarking experience covers 'Best Practice'.
Roger Watkins
Environmental Efficiency and Temperature Controlled Logistics
Roger heads up our Supply Chain initiatives seeking to Identify 'Best Practice' to deliver environmental and cost benefits. He also advises on Fuel Efficiency including fuel monitoring and benchmarking.
He has very strong experience in temperature controlled goods; previously being MD of Frigoscandia and President of the Cold Storage and Distribution Federation.
Phil Jones
Supply Chain Modelling & Transport Planning
Phil specialises in modelling and transport related assignments. These range from strategic depot location studies to detailed vehicle routing and scheduling and fleet evaluation studies. He has also developed a number of client specific 'Cost to Serve' systems.
Prior to SCALA he was with Supply Chain Solutions and with PE International's Modelling and Logistics division.
Joe Robinson
Warehouse Design and Planning
Joe has a strong background in materials handling systems and equipment and was then Operations Director for a Third Party Logistics Company.
His expertise is detailed warehouse operations and he has wide experience in designing and implementing warehouse solutions from conventional through to fully automated operations and integrated systems.
