The SCALA Annual Debate has become one of the highlights of the logistics calendar and is a great opportunity for senior industry leaders and professionals to discuss the key issues of the year. 2018 will be our 15th year of running this highly successful event, which attracts top speakers and 150 senior professionals who will be meeting up in the stunning marquee and grounds of historic Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire on the 28th June. Overview: As the largest logistics firm currently operating in Britain, Wincanton has spent the last 90 years providing supply chain consultancy and solutions to some of the world’s most admired brands. The company employs approximately 17,500 people across more than 200 sites across the UK and Ireland, and boasts a 3,600-strong fleet of vehicles. Wincanton design and implement services that range from setting up and operating distribution networks through to bonded warehouses, technology hosting, container transport and storage.
The firm also provides improvements in stock visibility and availability, lead time reduction, collaborative warehousing and transport models, and an absolute commitment to continuous improvement, are just some of the reasons why many of Wincanton’s customers extend to more than 20 years.
Overview: The Food Storage & Distribution Federation exists to provide the organisational and functional structure for companies involved in or associated with the UK food and drink storage and distribution industry to join together and address issues of common interest. The FSDF also aims to provide services and support specifically designed for food and drink logistics operators in all sectors of the UK economy, represent the interest of the food and drink logistics sector at the highest level to Government, academia and other trade associates, and raise the profile and perspective of the industry as a big part of the UK economy. The organisation also provides opportunities for members to meet to network amongst themselves and other external, political, academic and scientific organisations and specialists.
Overview: The CILT have also sponsored the Annual Supply Chain Debate for a number of years and serves as the membership organisation for professionals involved in the movement of goods and people and their associated supply chains. Members of the Institute are involved in the management and design of infrastructure, systems, processes and information flows and in the creation, management and development of effective organisations. The work of their members impacts directly on people, society and the environment, on business profitability and economic growth, and the organisation is dedicated to enhancing knowledge, careers, and businesses by setting, supporting and delivering professional standards and education, and by promoting logistics, transport and their associated supply chains to society as a whole.
